Former YG Entertainment CEO Yang Hyun Suk's threats to informant A have surfaced in court.
On the 13th, the Seoul Central District Court heard opinions from the accused and prosecution on the first trial date for Yang Hyun Suk's retaliation against an informant A (Han Seo-hee). Yang Hyun Suk didn't appear in court but his lawyer denied all the charges.
His lawyer pleaded "not guilty" at the trial and stated, "It's true that he [Yang Hyun Suk] met and talked to informant A but he never threatened or forced A to make false statements."
The lawyer for a YG Entertainment employee surnamed "Kim" who was put on trial for handing money to informants at the instruction of the former YG CEO also denied the charges in court.
Yang Hyun Suk's threats to informant A were also revealed in court. Yang Hyun Suk allegedly met with A and threatened her saying, "I can see all the reports so take back your testimony. You're either a kid that belongs to the red light industry or entertainment industry. Killing someone like you is nothing."
Yang Hyun Suk is suspected of threatening an informant A that came forward with suspicions that former iKON member B.I (Kim Hanbin) purchased drugs while at YG.
Yang Hyun Suk is also accused of soliciting A's agency to let A go abroad, but the representative of the agency, who ordered A to leave, is also currently on the run abroad. As a result, the prosecution had to "suspend him as a reference in the case."
Meanwhile, the court made a statement to the effect "they would quickly end the trial in consideration of Yang Hyun Suk's honor," sparking controversy.
