Police have arrested a rapper from a hip-hop group for abusing drugs.
On the 7th, the drug investigation team of Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency arrested rapper Kim at the end of August for drug use, possession, and joint sale and handed him over to the prosecution.
In early August, police conducted a search and seizure of Kim's studio located in basement of a house in Bundang, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do. In the process, they found meth and synthetic marijuana that were also confiscated.
Police confiscated total 7kg of marijuana however a new drug with a greater hallucinogenic effect than regular marijuana was also found.
Kim was previously sentenced to 6 months in prison and 2 years probation for smoking marijuana in 2011 but has been caught again this time.
Police further discovered during investigations that Kim was handed drugs from gang member A of a gang in Daejeon area. A received a recipe from a foreign drug organization and made and distributed the synthetic marijuana himself using an undiluted solution imported from the foreign country.
