Blackpink’s Jisoo is under controversy for her terrible acting on JTBC Snowdrop’ drama.

Seolganghwa (Snowdrop)’ is a drama about the desperate love story of Su-ho (Jung Hae-in), who, while in a bloody mess, ran into a prestigious college student at a female dormitory and Young-ro (Jisoo), the college student that hid and healed him during a crisis set in Seoul in 1987.

Jisoo is currently enjoying global popularity as a member of YG's Blackpink and her being cast as a female lead in the drama drew attention from domestic and foreign fans before it aired.

At the production presentation, Jung Hae-in praised Jisoo’s performance as a “series of surprises” but when the lid was opened, viewers could not hide their embarrassment at Jisoo’s performance, which was drastically different from the male lead, Jung Hae-in.

The part that is pointed out as the biggest problem is her pronunciation and vocalization. She’s even being criticized for not being able to pronounce her own name “Eun Young-ro” properly. According to viewers, her grating voice mixed with her nasal tones is reducing their immersion in the drama. Especially, since Jisoo is acting alongside actors like Yoo In-na, Park Seong-woong, Yoon Se-ah, and Kim Hye-yun, her terrible acting skills seem to stand out even more.

Netizens commented, “I can’t hear anything”, “Even when I listen to Blackpink songs, Jisoo’s voice is annoying, her acting is even worse, “OMG,” “Her dictation is so bad, aigoo”, “I think I need to add subtitles”, “the supporting actors are way better than her.”

Meanwhile, ‘Snowdrop’ is currently embroiled in controversy for history distortion by demeaning the democratization movement and beautifying the Ministry of National Security.
