'Snowdrop' has decided to air special programming to clear up misunderstandings.

On the 23rd, JTBC stated, "Controversy over 'Snowdrop' is continuing. Due to the nature of broadcast drama, it's impossible to reveal all the narratives at once so it seems like misunderstandings originated from the initial development. In order alleviate the viewer's concerns, we decided to make a special broadcast ahead of schedule."

"In episodes 3-5 that will broadcast from 24th to 26th at 10:30PM (KST), the background of the North Korean agent Su-ho and reality of undue power in South Korea are stripped away, revealing the possibility of the initial setting. It's revealed that Ministry of Security is the main agent responsible for bringing the North Korean agents to South Korea as the North and South Korean leaders are vying for money and power. The stories of the young people involved in the secret operation will also unfold."

"JTBC respects various viewpoints and opinions on content. We're listening to viewers voices on the bulletin board and real-time chats on the portal. We will continue to listen to your opinions and do our best to create good content."

  1. [+631, -70] The issue is the writer intentionally distorted a time in history and wrote it in a way to achieve a certain purpose. Of course viewers had no choice but to suspect their hidden motives especially after the drama took in Chinese money. 'Crash Landing on You' is also a fictional drama but they didn't write it like that. 'Snowdrop' intentionally sampled real people in history and distorted events to fit their narrative. Why not center the drama around a fictional character in a fictional event set in that era?
  2. [+407, -10] Aren't they also preparing a follow-up drama to 'Snowdrop' that praises the CCP and communist dictatorship? Just goes to show that JTBC is lacking in both quality and content but want to keep using famous hallyu stars to air their propaganda..why?
  3. [+128, -14] They're crazy...
  4. [+120, -8] This trash broadcasting company that was bought with Chinese money seems to be taking viewers to be dogs and pigs. It's clear they're a Chinese broadcasting company.
  5. [+96, -4] They're afraid that if they back out now they won't be able to come back from it. It's clear they're a front for the CCP.
  6. [+46, -2] This is crazy. So to tamper down the controversy, they won't cancel the drama but air 3 episodes instead? How much money did they get?
  7. [+38, -1] Is this a comedy? This drama was produced with a lot of Chinese money but what's even funnier are the weird titles. 'Joseon Exorcist' and now 'Seolganghwa'...none of these are titles you'd find in our country. Only Chinese kids use words like that. It's clear Chinese are trying to distort our history that's why they're heavily investing in Korean companies.
  8. [+22, -0] It's clear 'Snowdrop' is a Chinese drama. The Chinese have already infiltrated so many countries to distort their history under the guise of "investments." The controversy over this drama started a year go so its disappointing the main leads Hae-in and Jisoo chose to participate in this. It's so disappointing that they have no sense of history.
  9. [+18, -0] JTBC = Chinese cable channel
  10. [+8, -1] I seriously hate this. The victims are saying they're suffering but they're still insisting they're right? So shameless of them.
