The Academy has also opened formal investigations into the incident.
- [+4,680, -649] Violence is justified in situations where someone touches your family.
- [+4,455, -570] 99% of Americans seem to be cursing Will Smith over this but in Korea, everyone seems to be misinformed thinking his assault is justified because Chris touched his family. First off, if you watch the full version, Chris Rock's joke wasn't delivered in an angry or malicious manner. Will Smith initially laughed along too until he saw his wife was getting upset and suddenly rushed to the stage and hit him. This situation was so odd, it felt like the wife was controlling him. He even said last time that he'd be ok if his wife cheated on him with his son's friend. It's like he's brainwashed by her.
- [+2,168, -100] In life, there comes a time when someone disrespects you so badly that you feel the urge to not just hit them but hurt them. But if everyone reacted with violence then our society would be a mess. Violence can never be justified for any reason, even if you are in the right. Let morality be the judge. Will Smith needs to be legally punished for his assault.
- [+1,830, -73] It was a joke, that he laughed along to at first until he saw his wife get upset then he rushed to hit him. I can understand being upset, but...to get up on stage, especially at a prestigious event like the Oscars.. and hit him in the face? This is the first time I've seen something like that in my life. A well-educated person would never express their rage in such a manner. Comments by Koreans justifying his violent acts are seriously disgusting!
- [+856, -92] He's like a black Lee Hwi-jae. Never imagined there'd be someone worse than him .. ㄷㄷㄷ
- [+112, -28] But Will Smith's wife is a psycho. She has quite the strong sex drive and enjoys cheating on him with other men. She was even able to get her husband to be ok with her affairs?
- [+76, -1] The fact that he's Will Smith is only reason why he wasn't escorted to jail immediately after such a violent act on stage. It's a special perk that only celebrities can afford.
- [+58, -2] Eh? Seems more like Will is getting gaslighted by his wife?
- [+26, -1] Will Smith has been acting quite strange lately. Are we sure it isn't the wife that's problematic?... he's getting gaslighted no? He couldn't even say anything after it came out she cheated on him??
- [+18, -3] Will seriously destroyed his image over this scandal... can't stand him now.
