Actor Kim Yong-gun (77) has been confirmed as the father to A's baby.
According to an exclusive report by The Fact on the 15th, Kim Yong-gun's girlfriend A (39) gave birth to a healthy son at K hospital in Seoul in November of last year.
An aide familiar with the relationship revealed, "Kim Yong-gun and A were notified of paternity results on the 14th, a week after they applied for a DNA test at a universal hospital on the 7th. In addition to taking necessary measures, we are seeking all living expenses necessary for normal childcare."
Kim Yong-gun's close associate B revealed, "There were rumors he denied the baby after A's pregnancy became public because of their huge age difference. He wanted to prevent this from happening. More than anyone, as a father to a baby, he can't hide his joy but he hasn't been able to reveal his inner feelings to those around him in consideration of various circumstances. He has promised all support necessary for A to live with the baby and plans to add the baby to the family registry. His two sons Ha Jung-woo and Cha Hyun-woo are all generously supporting their father's decision."
Meanwhile, Kim Yong-gun first met A in 2008 when she was 24 and maintained a good relationship for 13 years. However, Dispatch revealed that in March last year, A announced she was pregnant and Kim Yong-gun opposed the birth causing conflicts. A later sued Kim Yong-gun for forced abortion but withdrew the lawsuit after "resolving differences and misunderstandings" between them.
The actor later explained, "It was not a situation where we promised or planned for a future together so surprise and worry took over joy. It all came at once."
