KBS2 'Music Bank' that's currently under controversy for "manipulations" has been reported.
Netizen A told Kyunghyang, "We asked the National Police Agency to investigate the report that KBS deleted Lim Young-woong's playlists after discovering inconsistencies in 'Music Bank's explanations."
"Lim Young-woong's 'Can We Meet Again' was broadcast at least 3 times during the 2nd week of May but didn't receive not even one broadcast point, unlike, Le Sserafim, Treasure, and IVE who appeared on KBS programs and received broadcast points."
A also cited Mnet's past 'Produce 101' riggings where a PD was sent to prison and pointed out, "This '0 point' manipulation is a matter of democracy and fair competition in our society. I want to plead to the National Police Agency to establish and maintain democracy and rule of law through an in-depth investigation. I also want to ask the National Newspaper to confirm that the complaint was filed with Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency."
Meanwhile, the public is demanding clarifications from KBS after Le Sserafim suddenly received #1 on Music Bank while Lim Young-woong missed the top score due to broadcast score gap of over 5,000 points. Viewers filed petitions demanding KBS to disclose their score tally method pointing out that it's actually a "gapjil" of the broadcaster (KBS).
KBS stated, "The ranking counting period is from the 2nd to 8th and Lim Young-woong's 'Can We Meet Again' was not broadcast on KBS TV, radio, or digital content and the 'pop song pick' survey of 17,000 people also showed 0% response rate for the song."
However, Dispatch revealed that Lim Young-woong's song was selected and aired on a number of radio programs to include the 'Lim Baek-cheon' playlist on the 4th and other KBS programs on the 7th."
In addition, contrary to KBS claims, criticism is pouring out that new songs aren't included in the 'pop song pick' survey during their first week.
KBS is in a position to present a second explanation as a viewer petition demanding further clarification from KBS received over 1,000 votes in one day since it was posted.
- [+1,096, -48] Bang Si-hyuk is seriously such a disappointment once again ã… . Do they think just because they made some money they can rig their idols to top charts? There's definitely something fishy with this company. Are they planning on throwing away BTS' image that they worked so hard to build over the years? Kick out that bully idol from the group and promote your remaining artists fairly!!
- [+537, -35] Wow ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ never knew Lim Young-woong's fandom was this big ..? 0 is a bit much, what were they thinking? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
- [+454, -5] Why even add an 'album' score category if broadcasts determine the winner or loser. Is this 'Broadcast bank' or 'Music Bank?"
- [+354, -12] Why was Lim Young-woong's song erratically kicked out of charts at midnight??? Why don't you explain that!!!? To give a rookie that barely started promotions a crown because they won with 5,348 broadcasts points while a national opponent gets a 0 is just ~
- [+285, -26] It's clear an investigation is required ~~ because this is just.. not it
- [+168, -10] HYBE and Le Sserafim touched two things they shouldn't have touched: 1. National sentiment over school bullies 2. Lim Young-woong
- [+132, -3] The broadcast score was 0 to 5,348ã…‹ in all other scores, Lim Young-woong won.. Does it make sense to have broadcast score as a differentiator between 1st and 2nd place?? No.. I'm not part of Lim Young-woong's fandom but even I think this is too unfair.. this is a comedy right? It's a comedy..
- [+132, -7] This is a clear Le Sserafim rig job no matter who's looking at this. What does KBS have on HYBE? What is their connection? To say that a rookie idol with a school bully criminal topped the charts against a national singer like Lim Young-woong.. this is too funny ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹
- [+104, -3] Since an official report for investigation has been filed, I hope police conduct a thorough investigation into 'Music Bank' this time. KBS is a public broadcast network but they've been so ridiculous with their treatments of national viewers and the more we complain, the more expensive the license fee we pay. I wouldn't be surprised if 'Manipulation Bank' has a "lobby score" for bribes taken for #1.
- [+86, -3] I barely listen to music but I know Lim Young-woong.. never once heard of Le Sserafim.
- [+84, -13] Ah ~ BTS' agency is just... how much did they pay for #1 that they were given a score like that ? ã…‹ã…‹ã…‹. Well, BTS only gets awards because of their SNS presence in foreign countries.. so it's not like it's a habit they can kick away easily.
