KFC China is under fire for suspicions of plagiarizing BLACKPINK.
According to a report by ET Today, a Taiwanese paper, a local netizen first reported suspicions that KFC China is plagiarizing BLACKPINK's 'Ddu-du Ddu-du' music video after noting similarities in its new 'Queen Mojito' promotional ads.
According to the local netizen, KFC announced their new ad video featuring a main female protagonist amidst a pink background in a powerful chic pose playing chess similar to the pose by BLACKPINK Jennie in their 'DDDD' music video.
According to Chinese Blinks, their new ad also took inspiration from Lisa's infamous classroom scene.
The local Chinese netizen who first reported the allegations stated, "It's not just a suspicion. You can clearly see that it's presented in the same style and background as BLACKPINK's music video. It's clear plagiarism."
