Henry has been caught deleting comments criticizing the Chinese.
On the 21st, a number of articles were posted in online communities exposing Henry for deleting his YouTube comments. Attached were screenshots of a comment section where fans were expressing affection for Henry. There were also comments degrading Koreans saying Korea is a "small" country.
However, comments criticizing China and Chinese were immediately deleted. Comments degrading the Chinese continued until the morning of the 21st, but all were deleted in less than a minute.
As a result, public opinion over Henry's activities has turned cold.
Amid growing anti-Chinese sentiment, Hong-Kong-Canadian Henry has recently been showing pro-Chinese behavior such as a focusing more on his Chinese schedules.
Henry posted a message congratulating China's National day on October 1st last year and two days later, after his performance ended, he posted a photo with the audience on Weibo and wrote, "I love Chengdu a lot, see you next time."
He also uploaded a video playing the violin on Weibo on the 2nd of the same month and the song he was playing was titled, "I love you China."
Henry is also under fire after appearing on 'Street Dance of China 4' in a scene where Chinese were dancing in the background wearing traditional Korean pansori and hanbok causing controversy.
