At a time when public sentiment over Cho Joo Bin's controversial "Nth Room" is at an all time high, Future Unified Party Chairman Hwang Kyo Ahn is causing extreme anger among Koreans.
The politician attended a press conference hosted by the Broadcasting Journalists Club on the 1st where he was asked,"whether they should unmask and punish the 260,000 members of the Nth Room." Hwang replied, "those that participated in the so-called Nth Room only did it out of curiosity. The punishment should be in accordance to their level of activity in the chatroom."
Public criticism grew over his remarks with many stating, "What is he saying? There should be ZERO tolerance for those involved in sex crimes. We shouldn't send a pathetic politician like him that's indifferent to sex crimes to the National Assembly."
