On the 1st, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency released results of forensic analysis on A's phone.
According to police, Son Jung-min's friend A had a "health" app installed on his phone so his every move and activities were recorded. Forensic investigations conducted on the phone showed that no irregularities were detected. There was no sign that he used or moved his phone after he talked to his parents the day his friend disappeared.
A police official stated, "It's presumed that no one moved his cell phone after A finished talking to his parents. Also, we were not able to find any evidence that the power was turned on after it was turned off at around 7:02am that morning."
Police are also checking the date and time when B, the sanitation worker, found the phone after it was revealed that B held onto the phone for almost 2 weeks. B found the phone around 10th -15th of last month and stored it in his office locker and forgot about it due to personal sick leave. He later submitted it to police on the 28th once he remembered. B told police that he was not able to remember the exact time and place he found the phone and did not respond to police's request to undergo a lie detector test.
Police have commissioned the National Forensic Service to analyze bloodstains found on the phone.
Meanwhile, no charges will be filed against A as there's no evidence of criminal acts found.
- [+3,851, -295] The phone in Lee Yong-gu's case was manipulated by Seocho police too...its a crime den. To put it bluntly, that's a place you get killed off like Detective Lee Yong-hoon..
- [+3,101, -208] Then all you have to do is release Banpo Bridge CCTV...nothing else is necessary anymore. Police-ssi, this is your last chance to recover your image with public
- [+2,937, -183] That's not a friend at all...what kind of friend abandons their drunk "friend", appoints a lawyer right away and doesn't mourn their death..?
- [+2,067, -249] So the conclusion is a kid that hated going into water, got drunk and fell into the cold Han River and drowned on his own? The friend that happened to be there with him blacked out and can't remember what happened? I know weird things can happen when you drink but it's too hard to ask the public to believe this. We're really trying not to put suspicion on the friend but there are just too many things that don't add up..

- [+713, -8] The time A's mother called her son was 4:27. That's also when lawyer said he received notice that A turned off his cell phone. Today, police are saying power was turned off at 7:02...? Isn't that an irregularity? What kind of forensics did you do exactly?
- [+634, -15] Then release cctv. There's nothing more neutral than cctv right? Release cctv of the 7 witnesses, sanitation worker, the officetel etc. If you really want the public to trust in this, then release all the blackbox and cctv. How much money was spent this timeㅋㅋ
- [+520, -12] Shouldn't they be waiting for the sanitation worker to respond to the lie detector first? Can a public worker in his 60s just refuse an investigation request? And how sure are you he lost of his phone and didn't throw it away..? Didn't police just say during presentation last time that they didn't see A's cell phone yet and are still investigating the sanitation worker...? This case is like trying to wade through fog and mud.
