The prosecution had demanded a prison sentence for Hwang Hana's crimes.
Hwang Hana attended trial for her drug and theft charges at the Seoul Western District Court and the prosecution requested a two and a half year prison sentence, similar to the first trial.
In the first trial, prosecutors demanded the same sentence and a fine of 400,000 won however Hwang Hana appealed the judgement.
Prosecutors stated, "Hwang Hana had initially been acquitted on August 22 last year however the statements from acquaintances who abused drugs together at the time were a match as well as video evidence revealed. She denied the crimes in the first trial in the previous case and confessed saying she would not commit the crime again, but here we are once again."
Her lawyer argued, "Hwang Hana might be a bit older in age but she's still young. She's a kind person who doesn't know much about the world."
In her final statement, Hwang Hana stated, "For the past 3-4 years, I've been crazy because of sleeping pills and drugs. I only have one life but I treated my body in such a trivial way. I'll try to quit drugs. It will be difficult but I'll get rid of my cellphone and go to the countryside to live. I'll find work and work hard the rest of my life."
Meanwhile, Hwang Hana was previously convicted in 2019 for abusing meth at her home in Seoul from May to September 2015 and was sentenced to one year in prison and two years in probation. However, she was arrested again on charges of administering meth several times during her probation period and stealing luxury clothing worth 5 million won from an acquaintance's home.
Her appeal sentencing hearing is scheduled for the 15th.
