Lucas has decided to leave the group.
On the 10th, SM Entertainment officially announced that Lucas will be leaving NCT and WayV.
SM stated, "As a result of careful discussions with Lucas, we made a mutual decision with Lucas and he decided to leave NCT and Wayv to pursue his individual endeavors. It was a decision reached after deciding what's the best choice for both members and fans who have supported him. Lucas is planning on showing his performances through a wide variety of individual works from now on. We ask that you continue to send unwavering support and interest."
Meanwhile, Lucas previously apologized for causing a stir in 2021 over his "private life" controversy.
At the time, Lucas stated, "I sincerely apologize to those who have been hurt by my wrong actions. If you give me a chance, I would like to express my apologies in person. Looking at the situation in the past few days has made me sincerely reflect on my past actions. Looking back, I was obviously wrong and it was an irresponsible act that betrayed the long-term love and support of fans. I would like to also apologize for causing damage to various partner companies and broadcasting staff."
