Koreans are angry over another sexual exploitation case similar to "Nth Room."
According to KBS report on the 9th, a middle school student 'A' received a friend request on social media in 2018 from someone claiming to be her "unnie." But as soon as they became close, the "friend" made a strange request. She told A "she needed money for surgery and asked A to send sexually explicit videos of herself." Because they had gotten really close, A agreed to send the videos.
But the requests didn't stop there. Later, her "unni" asked her to "feed her mom and sister XX sleeping pills and send sexually explicit videos of them too" adding, "if you chicken out I'll hurt your family." The friend even sent A detailed instructions on what to do.
The exploitation lasted for nearly a year to a point where 'A' considered committing suicide. That's when the parents discovered the texts on her cell phone and reported the matter to police. The perpetrator 'B' was caught in November and revealed to be an 18 year old boy studying abroad.
The prosecution has asked for 3.5 to 7 year prison sentence but because B is a minor and a first-time offender, a generous ruling is expected.
